Adding users for external systems

To access external systems with their own credentials, users must be explicitly added as external system users. Note that the settings (e.g. validity period) made for an external system user only applies to the access to external systems and relay channels. The only connection to the corresponding grid user (grid principal) is the name of the external system user, which must correspond to the name of the grid user.

  1. Open the External Systems Credentials UI page (see above).
  2. Click Add user.
  3. Specify the username that this user would get in the grid, using the configured session provider.
  4. Specify a password for the self-service function. If the password is left blank, the user can only use the self-service function while logged on with their own account to the Grid Configuration Manager.
  5. Select if the account should be enabled (ACTIVE) or disabled (DISABLED) from start.
  6. You can set a validity time period for the account. Leave the fields blank is no validity time restrictions are wanted.
  7. To add external credentials for the user, click Add credentials. Select the external system to add credentials for and specify the user’s credentials for this system. Click the check-mark to save the credentials.
Note: Users may also manage their own external credentials via the self-service function.
  8. For more information on how to configure relay IDs, see Adding a relay user ID to an existing user.
  9. Save the configuration.
