Creating send channel

  1. In PA tool menu, select Manage > Communication.

    The Communication window is displayed. By default, the Receive tab is shown.

  2. Click New.

    The Create new send object window is displayed.

  3. In the Channel Configuration section, specify this information:
    Name

    Specify a name for this channel.

    Description

    Provide a brief description.

    Protocol

    Select a protocol to use.

    Note: The DISK protocol writes the message to a disk. To be able to put the file on a desired location and with a specific name, you must set the parameters first.

  4. For the basic configuration settings, specify this information:

    The standard IEC setting requires for an output folder and a file extension. IEC creates a unique filename using the internal UUID for the message and appends the chosen extension UUID.ext.

    Output folder

    Specify the output folder name.

    File name

    Specify a name for this file.

    File extension

    Select a file extension to use, such as .xml, .txt, or .zip.

    For example, a simple setting with an xml file extension will have this filename: 0a65c7fee1-4f42-3190-e849-920ae4d170.xml

  5. Click OK to save the send channel in the IEC database.
