Envelope Objects overview

Envelopes allow users to create a text file where system and editable values are defined by start and end separators. An example of a created text file is XML. Users can create any message envelope using the text file as a template. The user-defined message envelopes that EC can apply to outbound messages are managed in Partner Admin Tool.

You can retrieve user-defined manifest items and use them in an envelope. User-defined manifest items must contain prefixes such as map, agr, or daf.

Note: EC is delivered with the external MBM envelope and also with the internal EC envelope.

System Values:

System values are set by EC at run time. For example: the system value THE_PAYLOAD will be replaced by the message’s payload created by the EC mapping.

For more information about mapping, see IEC Mapping Manager User Guide.

Editable Values:

Editable values are set in the message’s Agreement.

For more information about Agreement, see Partner Agreement overview.
