Configuring RFH2 for outbound channels
You can configure an MQSeries outbound channel using the IEC Partner Administration Tool.
- Click Manage > Communication > Send.
- Click New.
- Click MQSeries under the Protocol drop-down menu.

Select MQFMT_FR_HEADER_2.
You will have access to the Encoding field and Edit RFH2 Header Info button. These will only appear upon selection of MQFMT_FR_HEADER_2 under format.

Specify this information.
- Name
- Specify the name of the RFH2 header.
- Description
- Give a short description of the RFH2 header.
- Protocol
- Specify the MQSeries protocol.
- Queue
- Specify the MQSeries queue name.
- Host
- Specify the MQSeries host.
- Channel
- Specify the MQSeries channel.
- Port
- Specify the port used by the RFH2 header.
- Queue manager
- The MQSeries queue manager.
- Username
- Specify the username responsible for the RFH2 header.
- Password
- Specify a password for the RFH2 header.
- Format

Selecting the MQFMT_FR_HEADER_2, under format, will prompt a pop-up window where the user can put Properties for USR folder, JMS Queue Configuration and JMS folder. You must use values from the manifest, in the dynamic values. All fields are optional. Click OK and the Create Send Object window to save the data.
Note: Clicking the Edit RFH2 Header Info button will trigger a pop-up window where you can specify the RFH2 information. - Character Set
- The representation of any character data in the portion of the message following the MQRFH2 (the next header, or the message data following this header).
- Encoding
- The specifying of any numeric data in the portion of the message following the MQRFH2 (the next header, or the message data following this header). You must specify a numeric value for this field. Entering non-numeric values will trigger a validation upon Clicking "OK". If you do not enter a number, the encoding field will set to a default value of 273.
- Click OK on the header pop-up window.
