Viewing XML target tree view

The Message Envelope part of a message is used for detection. Each message envelope has a different root element name and there is one top node in the tree view. But if several envelopes or other XML elements share the same root element, then all these xml targets are mixed under the same top node.

Use this procedure to show the tree view structure of an xml target.

  1. From PA tool menu, select Manage > Detections.
  2. Click the Targets tab > Import/Export XML tab.
  3. In the Available targets pane, select an xml target.
  4. To show a tree view of listed xml target:
    1. Click View Export Tree.

The view shows the details of the xml target in a tree view structure.

    2. Click Close to go back to the Definitions window.
  5. To show a tree view of saved xml target:
    1. Click Open.
    2. Browse to the folder location where to retrieve the xml target to view.
