Creating flat file targets

Use this procedure to create new flat file targets in the EC database.

  1. From the PA tool menu, select Manage > Detection.
  2. Click the Targets tab > Flat tab.
  3. Click New.

    The Create a new target window is displayed.

  4. Specify this information:
    Name

    Specify a unique flat file name.

    Description

    Specify a brief description.

    Record Number

    Specify a numeric record.

    Record separator

    Specify a character to use as a record separator.

    Start position

    Specify a start position.

    End position

    Specify an end position.

  5. Click OK to store the flat target in the EC database.
  6. Click Close to go back to the main window.
