Editing API reference

Use this procedure to show the information, modify the settings, or remove an API reference from IEC database.

  1. Select Manage > Communication. Click the M3 API tab.
  2. Select an API reference from the list.

    The view shows more information for this API, such as, Name, Host, User, Company, Encoding, Port, Password, Division, API Type, SSL Keystore, and Force proxy.

  3. Click Edit to modify the property values.

    The Edit existing API reference window is displayed. See API reference fields definition.

  4. Click OK to save your changes.

    After you save the API reference, you must restart IEC for changes to take effect.

  5. Optionally, to enable an API reference for import, select and click Use.

    Under the Import Use column across your selected API reference, a numeric value 1 is shown. This value indicates an M3 API enabled for import.

  6. Optionally, to delete an API reference, select and click Delete.
  7. Close and exit the application.
