Creating Data Service using LISTMI

  1. On the application, click the Manage Data Services icon.
  2. In the Data Services Configuration window, click + Add.
  3. Specify a name for the data service. See Naming recommendation for data services.
  4. Optionally, provide a description for the data service.
  5. To create a transaction, click + Add data service and select API transactions.
  6. Specify the name of the transaction.
  7. In the Type field, select LISTMI.
  8. Click the Properties tab and select Information Category. Both the Program and the Transaction fields contain default values which you cannot modify.
    You can get the Information Category from 'Information Browser Category. Open' (CMS010) by using the program Information browser category name, or from 'List and Printer programs. Configure' (CMS005). For (CMS005), you must specify & before the program name.
  9. To view the list of available views and to select one, click the View icon. The view must be connected to one specific sorting order and the view must be shared for it to work with LISTMI.
    The output for LISTMI is determined by the view you selected. The input fields are provided by the sorting order that is connected to your view.
    For example, the LISTMI data service is used to list items in a data grid. LST_MITMAS01 is a list in (CMS010) that is suitable for the data grid. When creating a data service for the data grid, you can use this configuration:
    Information Category
    Specify LST_MITMAS01.
    View
    Select EXP90-00.
    If you select MMS001 for view and sorting order, then you can use this configuration:
    Information Category
    Specify &MMS001.
    View
    Select STD01-01.
  10. On the Properties tab, specify this information:
    Max Number of Records
    Specify the maximum number of transaction records to display. The default value for the maximum number of records is 50.
    Note:  The possibility to show more than 100 records should only be used in data grids. You should not increase number of returned records for the index list.
  11. Click the Save button in the Data Services Configuration window.
  12. Click the Save button on the application.

To read more about LISTMI, go to M3 Metadata Publisher. Click M3 API Repository and select Search API. Specify LISTMI in the program name field and press enter. Click LISTMI, then click its LstDataAsCSV transaction.
