Adding custom character encodings

When performing an action such as adding a custom character encoding, a dialog box is displayed.

Note: You cannot add or modify the encoding details for the standard encoding type.

Select Administration tools > Enterprise Collaborator Configuration > Character Encodings.
In the Character Encodings panel, click Add (+).
Specify this information:

Alias

Specify the name of the character encoding without white space. You can specify a maximum of 256 characters.

Java Encoding

Specify the Java encoding. You can specify a maximum of 32 characters. A dialog box is displayed when specifying an invalid Java encoding.

XML Encoding

Specify the XML encoding. You can specify a maximum of 32 characters.
Click Save.
