Format of bank account numbers

Requirement

Countries and banks have different structures for bank account numbers.

A beneficiary account number can be used for domestic payments.

M3 solution

The formats in this country for domestic and international bank accounts are supported by M3.

General configuration guidelines

Format Example
Domestic bank account number From 8 to 16 digits, for example 01234567 or 0123456789012345
Branch code (CBC) A six-digit code, in the format XXXXXX

Specific configuration guidelines

Program ID Program name Description or comment
CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Define the indicator for the format of domestic account numbers:

Define the account number in the bank account field 1, at most 16 characters long. Select the Numeric check box.

Define the sort code that is, the CBC, in the bank account field 2, at most 6 characters long. Select the Numeric check box.

Set the Country field to ZA.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS692/F Bank Account. Open Use these bank account types:
  • A company bank account, of type 1
  • Customer bank accounts, of type 2
  • Supplier bank accounts, of type 3

Bank. Open

Specify the name, the address, and the SWIFT details of the bank.

Bank Format. Open

To generate the standard domestic formats, select Actions > Gen standard.
