Format of bank account numbers

Requirement

Countries and banks have different structures for bank account numbers.

The IBAN and BIC are not required in Vietnam. Each bank has their own structure of bank account number.

M3 solution

The formats in this country for domestic and international bank accounts are supported by M3.

These formats are supported for Vietnam:

  • Domestic bank accounts
  • ABAN or BBAN with BIC or SWIFT code

The IBAN is currently not used in Vietnam.

General configuration guidelines

Format Example
Domestic bank account number Numeric, at most 15 digits long
BBAN (basic bank account number) Numeric, at most 15 digits long

Specific configuration guidelines

Program ID Program name Description or comment
CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Define an indicator for the ABAN, for bank accounts with the Clearing System Member ID, and the BBAN.

Define bank account field 1 for the BBAN, at most 15 characters long. Select the Numeric and Adjustment check boxes.

Define bank account field 2 for the clearing system prefix. Clear the Numeric check box. Select the Adjustment check box.

Define bank account field 3 for the bank identifier or code. Select the Numeric and Adjustment check boxes.

You can set the Country field to any country.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Define an indicator for the BBAN, for bank accounts with the BIC (SWIFT) code, and the BBAN.

Define bank account field 1 for the BBAN, at most 15 characters long. Select the Numeric and Adjustment check boxes.

You can set the Country field to any country.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS692 Bank Account. Open Use these account types:
  • A company bank account, of type 1
  • Customer bank accounts, of type 2
  • Supplier bank accounts, of type 3
CRS690 Bank. Open Specify the bank name, address, and SWIFT details.
CRS695 Bank Format. Open To generate the standard formats, select Actions > Gen standard.
