Trial balance report

Requirement

The provision of a trial balance report over the general ledger, by an accounting system, is a fundamental accounting requirement.

In this country, the accounting trial balance report is not a legal requirement, but a basic business practice.

M3 solution

A five-column report shows this information for each account:

  • Opening balances
  • Period balances
  • Closing balances

An eight-column report shows this information for each account, with separate columns for debit and credit values:

  • Opening balances
  • Period balances
  • Period movements and closing balances
