Format of bank account numbers

Requirement

Countries and banks have different structures for bank account numbers.

The SWIFT network is used for international transfers. The IBAN is not supported in Japan.

M3 solution

The formats in this country for domestic and international bank accounts are supported by M3.

General configuration guidelines

Format Example
Domestic bank account number

The structure of local bank accounts is XXX-XXXXXXX.

Program ID Program name Description or comment
CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Define an indicator for Japanese bank account formats.

Define the bank account field 1 for the account number, at most 10 characters long. Select the Numeric check box.

Set the Country field to JP.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS692 Bank Account. Open Use these account types:
  • A company bank account, of type 1
  • Customer bank accounts, of type 2
  • Supplier bank accounts, of type 3
CRS690 Bank. Open Specify the bank name, address, and SWIFT details.
CRS695 Bank Format. Open To generate the standard formats, select Actions > Gen standard.
