Requirement
All
entries of accounting transactions that are specified in a general ledger must be numbered in
an unbroken sequence.
M3 solution
M3 has one unbroken number series.
M3 supports two internal number series:
- The journal number is a global number series for all accounting entries
in M3. The journal number is annual and cannot
be configured by the user.
- Voucher numbers can be grouped into a book of accounts and these groups
can all start on 1 each year. These number ranges are configured by the user.
