Format of bank account numbers

Requirement

Countries and banks have different structures for bank account numbers.

The BIC is 8 to 11 characters long.

M3 solution

The formats in this country for domestic and international bank accounts are supported by M3.

General configuration guidelines

Format Example
Domestic bank account number

Numeric, 20 digits long.

Example: 2100 0418 45 0200051332

Normally, separators and blanks are not inserted in electronic messages.

BBAN (basic bank account number)

Numeric, 20 digits long.

Example: 21000418450200051332

The first four digits are used for the bank identifier. The next four digits are used for the branch identifier.

IBAN (international bank account number)

Alphanumeric, 24 characters long.

Example: ES9121000418450200051332

The first two characters are used for the country code.

The next two digits are used for the check digit.
