EU sales reporting
Requirement
This country is a member state of the EU. As such, if goods are sold or transferred by a company in this country to another EU country, an EU sales list must be submitted for every calendar month.
Reporting of sales of goods and services within the EU is now electronic, in XML format.
In Germany, European Sales Listings (ESL) are electronically filed on a monthly basis for goods for sales above €100,000 per annum. Otherwise, ESLs are filed quarterly. For services, the returns are filed quarterly.
The filing date is the 25th of the month following the reporting period end, which is monthly or quarterly.
There are several options to report ESL in Germany. The ESL file can be electronically uploaded to one of these locations:
- Elster Portal, for files with less than 1000 data records (BZST mapping - CSV)
- ELMA5 using the BOP
portal for upload, or by direct submission for files above 1000 data records
(ELMA5 mapping - TXT)
Note For direct transmission, the connection, including authorization, must be set up within the project.
M3 solution
EU sales information is captured by M3 through the M3 VAT system and the EU VAT generating transactions that are created during invoicing. This information is used to produce an electronic output of the sales report.
The electronic file is delivered by M3 with a country-specific message.
For this country version, these messages have been adapted, as made available in Infor Localization Services GEMS, ‘EU Sales Listing - 100028’:
- DE – EU Sales – ZM BZSt
- DE – EU Sales – ZM ELMA5
