Invoice numbering

Requirement

The rules for invoice numbering are country specific:

• In most countries, if the invoice number is unique per company or location where the invoice has been created, then the company can define their own number series.
• In some countries, local authorities decide which number interval the customer can use. This requirement is often combined with the requirement to preprint the invoice number on the invoice.
• In other countries, a prefix is required to separate invoices by type.

In this country, no specific invoice numbering is required by law, but invoice numbers must be unique per year.
