Format of bank account numbers

Requirement

Countries and banks have different structures for bank account numbers.

M3 solution

The formats in this country for domestic and international bank accounts are supported by M3.

General configuration guidelines

Format Example
Domestic bank account number

Numeric, 16 digits long.

Example: 1234567890123456

Normally, separators and blanks are not inserted in electronic messages.

BBAN (basic bank account number)

Numeric, 19 digits long.

Example: 0331234567890123456

The first three positions are used for the bank identifier.

IBAN (international bank account number) Alphanumeric, 23 characters long.

Example: AE070331234567890123456

Specific configuration guidelines

Program ID Program name Description or comment
CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Create an indicator for the company bank account.

Define bank account field 1 for the bank account number, at most 16 characters long. Select the Numeric check box.

Define bank account field 2 for the bank identifier, at most 3 characters long. Select the Numeric check box.

Set the Country field to AE.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS072 Bank Account Indicator. Open Create an indicator for international payments.

Define bank account field 1 for the IBAN, at most 23 characters long. Clear the Numeric check box.

Set the Country field to AE.

The Check digit mtd field is not used.

CRS690 Bank. Open Specify the bank name, address, and SWIFT code details.
CRS692 Bank Account. Open Use these account types:
  • A company bank account, of type 1
  • Customer bank accounts, of type 2
  • Supplier bank accounts, of type 3

In panel F, specify the IBAN details.

CRS695 Bank Format. Open To generate the standard formats, select Actions > Standard.
