Managing automation in unattended mode

The unattended mode uses bots to run processes on remote devices on a selected schedule without user intervention. This automation runs through the RPA Mastermind application, which is the RPA runtime engine.

The RPA Mastermind is a user interface component of RPA that manages processes, devices, and robots. It is configured through RPA Management. The Robot and the RPA Agent components are installed when the RPA application is installed in the unattended mode.

See Infor OS User and Administration Library (Cloud) and navigate to Administrator > RPA > Installing RPA > Unattended installation.

To perform this procedure, the RPA-Admin security role is required. Additionally, the Windows server may need to be configured without Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and should be enabled with standard user name and password authentication instead.

  1. Navigate to the Infor OS Portal and open the RPA Management application.
  2. Enable the process by performing these steps:
    1. Navigate to Home > Manage > Processes.
    2. Click the arrow icon corresponding to the process name.
    3. If applicable, in the corresponding tabs, perform these actions:
      • Add the users
      • Specify the process arguments
    4. Click Save.
  3. To manage the authorization for each user, perform these steps:
    1. Select Manage > Authorization.
    2. Select the Users tab.

The Revoke option is displayed when the application or the user is already authorized. If the RPA process fails, you can reset the authorization. Click Revoke, then click Authorize, and then Yes.

  4. To set the run schedule, perform these steps:
    1. Select Manage > Jobs.
    2. Select the solution.
    3. Specify the relevant information.
    4. Click Save.
See Infor OS User and Administration Library (Cloud) and navigate to Administrator > RPA > RPA Management > Manage > Jobs > Working with Jobs.
Note: Multiple jobs can be created for the same RPA process using the same device and bot, but with different tenant users. When configuring a job, you must select the remote server in the Devices field and specify the user to run the RPA process in the Bots field. In the Users field, select a tenant user who has access to RPA Management. You can specify multiple users. Each user can configure their own user parameters in the Your Arguments tab under Manage > Processes. This setup supports multiple divisions with distinct configurationFolder, oneDriveAccountID and localFolder values, and separate schedules.

If the RPA process is started manually from the RPA Assistant, the user who starts the process must have Read and Modify access to the localFolder.

If the RPA process is started automatically by schedule in unattended mode, the user who configured and run the RPA process on the remote server must have Read and Modify access to the localFolder without the need of authentication. If a local user on the remote server is used, a local folder on that server must be configured.
Note: You must end the localFolder with a backslash.
