Supplier Compliance Check

The Supplier Compliance Check uses Infor AI to help you identify which suppliers are listed in exclusion lists. You can use any exclusion list as long as the list follows the structure defined in the object schema provided during deployment.

Infor AI periodically compares supplier records in M3 with entries in your exclusion lists. The frequency of those checks depends on how often you update supplier records and how often the exclusion lists change. During deployment, the exclusion lists are uploaded and the solution is configured to match your requirements. You can also integrate ION Workflow to automate review and approval processes.

To determine whether a supplier matches an entry in an exclusion list, the solution evaluates supplier attributes individually, such as supplier name, address, supplier number, organization number, and VAT number. The solution then calculates a similarity score from 0.00 to 0.99, where a higher score indicates a closer match.

Based on the similarity score and the thresholds you configure, you can block transactions involving suppliers that require additional review or approval. Match results are available in a Birst report.

Note: An Infor AI administrator can assign different weights to supplier attributes to determine how much influence each attribute has on the final similarity score. For example, assigning a higher weight to the supplier name causes name matches to have a greater impact on the similarity score than other attributes.

You can also integrate the solution with the Supplier Creation widget through an API endpoint. The integration checks whether a supplier being created matches an entry in the compliance list before the supplier record is added.

Benefits of using this solution:

  • Reduces the risk of doing business with excluded suppliers.
  • Reduces recurring manual review work.
  • Supports scheduling that aligns with your supplier and exclusion list update cycles.

Best practices

Follow these best practices to help the solution run smoothly and avoid issues:

  • You must schedule the run and regularly verify your supplier data in Birst. We recommend running the process once a month if you rarely update your suppliers. However, the schedule primarily depends on when the selected exclusion list is updated.
  • You should identify which lists are most relevant to your organization and determine from which lists your suppliers must be excluded.
