Using the Sales Price Intelligence widget
Use this procedure to evaluate how a proposed net price affects the projected margin before you update the order line.
- In 'Customer Order Open' (OIS100), open a customer order.
- Select an order line, right-click, and then select Change.
The Sales Price Intelligence widget is displayed in the Insights panel and automatically analyzes the selected order line.
- Review the pricing information that the widget retrieves from the order line, including:
- Company
- Cost price
- Customer
- Customer group
- Division
- Existing discount
- Facility
- Item
- Item group
- Minimum Contribution Ratio (MCR) or margin threshold
- Order type
- Sales price
The analysis can also consider additional attributes, such as customer group and division.
- Review the margin information displayed in the widget:
- Min Contribution Margin: Shows the minimum margin requirement defined in M3.
- Current Margin: Shows the margin for the current order line.
- Net Price: Shows the AI-recommended net price along with the resulting Additional Discount and Margin values.
- To simulate an alternative pricing scenario, specify a proposed value in these fields:
- Net Price
- Additional Discount
- Margin
The widget recalculates the discount amount and evaluates the projected margin by using the net price, cost price, and configured margin threshold.
- Review the simulation results:
- New Margin: Shows the projected margin percentage for the proposed net price.
- Discount: Shows the calculated discount amount.
- Risk-to-Safe indicator: Shows whether the proposed pricing is likely to meet the configured margin requirement.
If the projected margin remains within the configured threshold, proceed with the recommended discount. Apply the discount from the widget or manually update the order line. The widget updates the discount amount in OIS101/E, and M3 recalculates the net price.
If the projected margin falls below the configured threshold, the widget shows a margin warning and may recommend a one-time supplier rebate. Review the recommended rebate amount and determine whether it should be applied. If you apply the rebate, the widget shows the adjusted cost and projected margin.
You can adjust the proposed price as needed and repeat the simulation until you reach an acceptable pricing and margin outcome.
