Process flow

This process describes how Sales Price Intelligence analyzes pricing and margin information and provides recommendations while you work in 'Customer Order Open' (OIS100).

  1. Select an order line.

In 'Customer Order Open' (OIS100), select or edit a customer order line. The Sales Price Intelligence widget is automatically triggered for the active order line.

  2. Retrieve order and customer information.

The widget reads the required information from the order context, including:

    • Company: Defaulted
    • Division: Defaulted
    • Customer
    • Facility
    • Order Type
    • Item Number
    • Sales Price: Recommended for better results
    • Cost Price: Recommended for better results
    • Item Group
    • Customer Group
  3. Submit a pricing intelligence request.

The widget sends the order and customer information to the AI service for analysis.

  4. Analyze historical pricing and margin data.

The AI service retrieves historical pricing and data, and uses that information to:

    • Analyze negotiation risk
    • Calculate the projected margin
    • Compare the projected margin with the Minimum Contribution Ratio (MCR), which is the minimum margin requirement defined in 'Item. Connect Facility' (MMS003/E) level
  5. Generate a pricing recommendation.

Based on the analysis, the AI service returns a recommendation:

    • If the projected margin is within the required threshold, the recommendation indicates that the discount is valid.
    • If the projected margin falls below the required threshold, the recommendation advises reducing the discount and shows a margin risk warning.
    • If applicable, the widget recommends applying a one-time supplier rebate to help meet the required margin threshold.
  6. Review the recommendation.

The widget displays the recommendation, pricing guidance, and margin information directly in the order-entry screen.

  7. Decide whether to apply the recommendation.

After reviewing the guidance, you can:

    • Accept the recommendation and apply the suggested pricing changes.
    • Reject the recommendation and keep the existing pricing.
  8. Update the order line.

If you accept the recommendation, the widget updates the discount in M3. The order line is then updated with the revised pricing information. If you reject the recommendation, the order line remains unchanged.
