Configuring additional features and settings for the text dialog component

You can configure additional features for the text dialog component to customize settings.

Configuring available user actions

The Available user actions setting controls whether users can add, edit, or delete text blocks in the Text dialog. All actions are enabled by default.

  1. Open the Text dialog configuration, and click the Properties tab.
  2. Locate the Available user actions setting.
  3. Deselect the actions that users cannot perform.
  4. Click Save.

    When an action is disabled, the corresponding button is removed from the Text dialog at runtime. For example, if Add is disabled, the Add button is hidden and users cannot create new text blocks.

    Note: 

    The Copy button is controlled by the Add action; disabling Add removes both the Add and Copy buttons.

Configuring default text block

Use a default text block to show one specific text block for the selected record instead of all available text blocks. When a default text block is set, the Text block field is pre-filled and read-only for users.

  1. Open the Text dialog configuration, and click the Properties tab.
  2. In the Default text block field, specify the name of the text block, or leave the field empty.
  3. Ensure the value exactly matches an existing text block in M3.
    Scenario Runtime behavior When to use
    Value entered If a matching text block exists, the dialog shows only texts associated with that text block. If no matching text block exists, the dialog opens in add mode so the user can create one. When creating a new text block, the Text block field is pre-filled with the configured value and read-only. Use when users should always work with the same text block for the selected record.
    Empty The dialog lists all available text blocks for the selected record, and the Text block field functions as usual. An empty default value does not restrict the field to a blank text block. Use when users must choose between multiple text blocks or specify different text block values.
  4. Click Save.

Hiding or displaying Additional Information section

  1. Open the Text dialog configuration, and click the Properties tab.
  2. In the Additional information section field, select an option:
    Hidden

    The Additional Information section is not displayed in the Text dialog.

    Visible but collapsed
    The section heading is displayed, but the fields are hidden until the user expands the section.
    Visible and expanded
    The section heading is displayed, but the fields are hidden until the user expands the section.
    Expanded when adding a new text
    Behaves like Visible but collapsed, but the section is automatically expanded when a user adds a new text.
  3. Click Save.
