Using the cut, copy, and paste component

Use the cut, copy, and paste to easily customize your application.

Cutting and pasting a component

Use cut and paste to move a component from one location to another within the same application. The component is removed from its original position.

  1. Open an application in edit mode.
  2. Hover a component.
  3. Click the Cut icon.
  4. Go to a new location of the component.
  5. Click the + icon.
  6. Select Paste from the add-component menu.
  7. Click Save.

Copying and pasting a component

Use copy and paste to duplicate a component and reuse it as a starting point elsewhere in the same application. The original component remains in place.

  1. Open an application in edit mode.
  2. Hover a supported component.
  3. Click the Copy icon.
  4. Go to a new location of the component.
  5. Click the + icon.
  6. Select Paste from the add-component menu.
  7. Click Save.

What is copied

These configurations are retained in the pasted component:
  • Operations, including standard and custom operations
  • Interactions
  • Component-specific configurations, such as height settings, chart properties, and spotlight items
  • Translation keys
  • Conditional styles
  • Component width
  • The component title

What is not copied

These configurations are not retained in the pasted component:
  • Toolbar buttons
  • Links, dialogs, and custom operations that are associated with toolbar buttons
