Configuring the Matrix component

You can configure the Matrix component to define the input values that it needs to display style and quantity data.

Adding the Matrix component

  1. Click the + icon in the editor and click Matrix.
  2. Click Configure.
  3. Specify a name in the Component ID.
  4. In the General Settings tab, specify the value in the Component heading field or leave it blank.
  5. Click Save.

Selecting the Matrix type

The Matrix includes multiple matrix types. You select the matrix type during configuration. Your selection defines the available fields and matrix behavior.

  1. Open the Matrix configuration by hovering the Matrix component.
  2. Click Configure.
  3. In the General Settings tab and select which Matrix type:
    Style
    Warehouse balance for a style: stock levels such as on hand, allocated, and ordered quantities across SKU combinations, including SKU availability.
    Purchase orders
    Order line quantities from a purchase order (PO) for a given style.
    Customer orders
    Order line quantities from a customer order (CO) for a given style.
    Distribution orders
    Order line quantities from a distribution order (DO) for a given style.

Setting up a source component

The Matrix is configured differently from most components. Its data retrieval is built in, so you do not connect it to a data service. Instead, it requires input from another component, called a source component, before it can display data. The source component provides the context for what the Matrix should show, such as the selected style, order number, or warehouse.

The source component must include fields that the Matrix can use as input. The fields that the Matrix requires depend on the Matrix type. At minimum, the source component must provide the required fields listed below. You can also include optional fields to filter the Matrix more specifically, such as color, size, warehouse, warehouse location, or delivery date.

  1. In the editor, click + and add the component that is used as the source component. For example, these are a Form, Data Grid, or Index List.
  2. Configure the source component with the required data service, interactions, and any other settings needed for the use case.
  3. Add the required input fields to the component. For example, these are under Fields tab, if form, or Columns, if Data Grid.

  4. Click Save.

Adding an interaction

To connect the Matrix to the source component, create an interaction.

  1. In the Matrix configuration, click the Interaction tab and click + Add.
  2. Specify this information:
    Source component
    Select the component set up in the previous step.
    Component element
    You can leave this blank.
    Event

    Select when the Matrix displays data from the source component, that is, when the source component is loaded or when a record is selected.

    Operation
    Select Read.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring the Style Matrix

For the Style matrix type, choose which stock quantities to display, such as on-hand, allocated, ordered, or requisitioned quantities, and choose whether to show SKU availability.

  1. In the Matrix configuration, go to the Properties tab.
  2. In the Matrix fields, switch the fields to show them in the matrix:
    Show SKU Availability
    Shows a check mark row indicating whether a SKU exists.
    On hand (STQT)
    Displays the on-hand quantity.
    Allocated (AVAL)
    Displays the allocated quantity
    Ordered (ORQT)
    Displays the ordered quantity.
    Requisitioned (REQT)
    Displays the requisitioned quantity.
  3. Click Save.
    Note: 
    • The fields toggled on will be shown as sub-rows in the matrix.
    • When no quantity fields are enabled and the switch for SKU existence is on, the matrix shows a checkmark grid that indicates SKU existence.
    • Turn on at least one field to show information in the matrix. If all fields are turned off, the Configure button appears instead.
