Configuring the chart component

Configure the basic configuration of the chart component.

Adding a chart component

  1. Click the + icon in the editor and click Chart.
  2. Click Configure.
  3. Specify a name in the Component ID.
  4. In the General Settings tab, specify the value in the Component heading field or leave the field blank.

Connecting a data service

  1. Open the chart configuration by clicking Configure.
  2. Click the Operation tab and select a data service for the Read operation.
  3. Click Save.

Adding an interaction

  1. In the chart configuration, click the Interaction tab and click + Add.
  2. Select the source, source component if applicable, event, and operation, for example, Read.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring chart properties

  1. In the chart configuration, click the Properties tab.
  2. Configure the chart according to the data you have to display. Specify the these information:
    Chart type

    Select how to display the chart, such as area, Bar, Bar - Grouped, Bar - Stacked, Column, Column - Grouped, Column - Stacked, Donut, Line, or Pie.

    Aggregation type

    Select a calculation method for values.

    By count: Counts the number of records that the data service returns.

    By sum: Adds the values in a numeric field for all records that the data service returns.

    Label field

    Select the field used to group and label the chart values.

    Value field

    Select the field to sum. Available only when Aggregation type is By sum.

    Stack field

    Select the field used to divide values into segments for stacked charts. Only available for Bar - Stackedand Column - Stacked chart types.

  3. Click Save.
