Configuration Management Tags

Use this widget to add or remove tags for resources in the current program. You can use the tags with M3 Configuration Management and Infor Configuration Management.

These M3 applications are supported:

  • M3 Business Engine functions
  • Event Analytics Rules
  • Enterprise Collaborator Agreements
  • Data Lake Publisher

Prerequisites

Before using the widget, define tags in Configuration Management > Tags.

See the M3 Core User and Administration Library (Cloud) and select Local and Global Packages (Config Mgmt) > CSSP.

API used in the widget

The Configuration Management Tags widget requires application program interfaces (API) that retrieve and display the appropriate data for M3 Business Engine functions.

Tag a resource

The program name is displayed at the top when a resource is selected in the current program. The short form of the program name is displayed for M3 Business Engine functions, such as ABS010. The full program name is displayed for non-Business Engine programs, such as Enterprise Collaborator Agreements.

Note: If no resource can be tagged for the selected resource, this error message is displayed: No resource to tag. Please select another resource.

The current organization is then displayed for M3 Business Engine functions. For example, 1_AAA for company 1 and division AAA and 750_ for company 750 and blank division. Organization is not displayed for non-Business Engine programs because non-Business Engine programs do not store resources per organization.

The resource name is also displayed. If the name is a path, different levels are separated by /. For example, the Enterprise Collaborator agreement is displayed as M3BODs/ION/M3_ItemMaster_Sync_Out.

This list shows examples of program names, organizations, and resource names displayed in the widget:

You can select the resource type for non-Business Engine programs through a drop-down list. You can tag different resource types for different resources for non-Business Engine programs. Additionally, there is no drop-down list for Business Engine programs. For Business Engine programs, the resource type is set to Configuration.

This table shows the available resource types:

Program Resource type Description
Event Analytics Rules Configuration + Content for Custom Session This option is available for custom sessions. Both session configuration and session content are tagged.
Event Analytics Rules Configuration for Session This option is available for all sessions. The session configuration is tagged. The session configuration indicates whether the session is started.
Event Analytics Rules Content for Custom Session This option is available for custom sessions. The session content is tagged.
Enterprise Collaborator Agreements Configuration + Content for Custom Agreement This option is available for custom agreements. Both agreement configuration and agreement content are tagged.
Enterprise Collaborator Agreements Configuration for Agreement This option is available for all agreements. The agreement configuration is tagged. The agreement configuration indicates whether the agreement is active and includes control property values.
Enterprise Collaborator Agreements Content for Custom Agreement This option is available for custom agreements. The agreement content is tagged.
Data Lake Publisher Configuration for Table Group This option is available for table groups.
Note: You cannot use this widget to tag individual tables in the default table group. This is only supported by the Configuration Management application.

Tagging must be done by organization. All tags available for the current organization are listed. Tags that are already linked to the selected resource are displayed first.

Click the + icon to add an unlinked tag to the current resource. Alternatively, click the Delete icon to remove a linked tag from the current resource.

This list shows how organizations are assigned when you add a tag:

  • If the added tag is used, it is already associated with an organization.
  • If the added tag is not used, the current organization is used for Business Engine programs. If the current division is blank, you must select an organization. You can select only organizations for the current company.
  • If the added tag is not used and the current program is not a Business Engine program, you must select an organization for the tag. The resource is not stored per organization. You can select any organization for the tag.
Note: The Configurable Management Tags widget automatically tags dependent resources from M3 BE programs. This behavior is enabled by default. If the system cannot tag a dependent resource, it shows this message: Tagging of the dependent resource irn:m3:m3be:main:out:crs116_cono/MBMEVENT is not supported, please use the Configuration Management application to tag the main resource and its dependencies. Deleting with tagged dependencies is not supported, only the main resource tag is deleted.

You can use the Configuration Management application to tag or untag resources. You must have the IFS security role M3ACM-User to use this application. The IFS security role M3ACM-Viewer gives you read-only access.

You can filter resources by tags in the Configuration Management application to get an overview of all tagged resources.
