Issue Overview

Use this widget to view the latest summary for your selected issue in 'Issue. Open' (IMS100) using Infor GenAI. The issue summary usually includes the issue description, actions completed, and actions required. However, the content may still require verification to ensure the accuracy of AI-generated responses.

The summary is also saved in M3 as a text block. However, you can only modify and delete the summary from Issue Management in M3 Portals.

Another functionality of the widget includes copy text to clipboard, where you can copy the summary and paste it on a separate notepad or Word file to check the content in another format.

Prerequisites

You must enable the GenAI Embedded Experience for M3 before you can use this widget. The feature must be toggled on the CloudSuite Self-Service Portal (CSSP).
See the M3 Integrations Library (Cloud) and select Infor GenAI Embedded Experience for M3.
You must open (IMS100/B) in M3 where customer issues are retrieved before you can use this widget. The context messages are retrieved by the widget, which contain an issue number and loads its corresponding issue summary in the text block.

When you use this as a standalone widget in a workspace, you must open the M3 Information Viewer widget where issues are retrieved.

Limitations

Responses generated by AI may not always be accurate or reliable. You must verify the information generated by AI and use it responsibly.

Supported languages

The widget interface, labels, and configuration options are displayed in the user's preferred language. If the preferred language is not supported, the widget is displayed in English (en-US).

Widget management


Tasks	Description
Configuring the widget	Use the topic to prepare the widget for usage. Know what settings to configure to control until when a generated summary remains valid before it is considered outdated.
Generating an issue overview	Use the topic to create an executive summary containing the issues for a selected issue.
Refreshing an issue overview	Use the topic to ensure that the content reflects the latest issue summary.

Configuring the widget

The cache setting is used to determine if the summary is expired. Expired indicates that the generated summary date is older than the date computed based on the configuration settings. For example, if the configuration is set for one week, a generated summary that is more than one week old is considered expired.

Click the menu icon on the widget title bar and select Configure....
Specify this information:

Title

Click the unlock button and specify a widget title.

Summary expiration value (if selected below)

Specify a quantity to match with the expiration unit of the issue. For example, specify 10.

Summary cache expiration unit

Select an expiration unit to match with the expiration value. If you specify 5 in the summary expiration value and select minutes in the expiration unit, compute 5 days from the current date to know the validity of the summary.
Click Save.

Generating an issue summary

Use this procedure when you have an empty summary on the widget.

In M3, click an issue from 'Issue. Open' (IMS100).
If used in a workspace, click an issue from the M3 Information Viewer widget.
On the widget, click Summarize issue <issue number> where <issue number> is a unique ID for the issue patterned after the series type reserved for Issue Management. The summary request might take a while to load the content.
Click Save.
Apart from what is saved on the widget, the summary is also saved to the project’s text block in M3.

Refreshing an issue summary

This procedure is applicable when your issue contains an existing issue overview.

Note: The summary becomes outdated when the generated summary date is older than the issue header date. This situation occurs when the issue is updated, making the generated summary invalid.

Click an issue from 'Issue. Open' (IMS100).
If used in a workspace, click an issue from the M3 Information Viewer widget.
On the Issue Overview widget, click Refresh summary for <issue number> where <issue number> depends on the selected issue for the display.
