Configuring translations

To translate headings in the application, you can create your own custom translations or use M3 translation constants.

  1. On the application, click the Manage Translations icon.
  2. To add a custom translation, click the Custom Translations tab.
  3. Click + Add Translation.
  4. In the Translation key field, specify the word that is enclosed in <>, which you used in a component. For example, if the component heading is <CustomerData>, then specify CustomerData in the Translation key field.
  5. Click + Add and select a language code. For example, FR for French. In the Translation key field, specify the translation that is used for the language code.
  6. Click + Add several times to add several translations for one translation key.
  7. Click Save.
  8. To add translation constants, click the Translation Constants tab.
  9. Click + Add Translation and specify this information:
    Translation key
    Specify the word that is enclosed in <>, which you used in a component. For example, if the component heading is <Invoices>, then specify Invoices in the Translation key field.
    General word
    Specify a program heading that describes the word for translation. Specify the first five characters of the program heading.
    Suffix
    Specify the last two characters of the program heading.
    Language file prefix
    Only specify a value for the Language file prefix field, if the program heading used contains a language file prefix that is not MVX. For example, MSE is used by the program heading ARE6301 (Batch Payment File Details) as the language file prefix. Then, you must specify MSE in the Language file prefix field.
    Language
    You can specify a language code to have a preview of the translation.
  10. To save the configuration for the translations, click Save.
  11. Click Close.
  12. To ensure that the translation configuration you added and configured is applied, click the Save button on the application.
