Creating a mapping project
Create a mapping project to contain the mappings that you can create later.
- Right-click an area on the Mapping Explorer tab and select New Project.
- Specify a name for the project.

Click Finish.
On the Mapping Console tab, the status of the new project is displayed. If there is an error, the message is displayed on this tab.
On the Mapping Explorer tab, the new project is listed.

Optionally, click the Navigator tab and expand the view of your project to view the default
contents.
Note: When you create the first mapping project, an additional project called
MappingUtils
is automatically created if this folder does not exist in the mapper workspace.MappingUtils is a resource project that is referenced from your mapping projects. You can ignore this project. If you delete
MappingUtils
, this project is restored the next time you restart mapper or create a new mapping project. This project is not displayed in the Mapping Explorer view.On the Mapping Explorer tab, you can perform these project-related tasks:
