Tagging the configuration items

Before you can tag configuration items in M3 Configuration Management, you must create and connect the tags to the customer in Self-Service Portal.
  1. In Infor Ming.le, select Administration Tools > Configuration Management.
  2. Select an organization from the menu.
If you selected configuration items and then selected a new organization, a prompt is displayed confirming that all selected items will be cleared. Click Continue to go through with the change. The selected items are then cleared, and the tree view of the applications is reset.
  3. Drill down into one or multiple applications in the tree view to select items.
You can only tag items. You cannot tag a type. For example, you can tag the H5 script MyScript.js but you cannot tag the type H5 Script. To select all items of a chosen type, select the check box in the table heading.
  4. Click the item in the data table to select it.
  5. To unselect a single item, click the item. To unselect all selected items, click Clear selection.
  6. When you selected all the required configuration items, click Tag items.
  7. Select which tag to use from the list.
If tags are not displayed, then there are no tags available for the current customer. If a tag is disabled, that is because it is locked. You cannot tag or untag a locked tag.
Note: You cannot use the same tag with different organizations. A tag can only contain items from one organization.
Note: When you later create the package in Self-Service Portal, in the Create package wizard, you must specify the organization used when assigning resources to the tag.
  8. Click Select to finish the tagging. A dialog box is displayed showing the number of tagged items.
Note: If this is the only tag the item has a current relation with, the tag is added to the Tags row of that item. If the item already has current relations with one or more tags, the tag in the Tags row is updated to show the correct number of tags. Click the tag to open a menu with the list of tags.
Note: A configuration item can have dependencies of other configuration items. When you tag a configuration item, its dependencies get tagged automatically.
Note: In order to access M3 Business Engine programs, you need to have access to the blank division of the company of your selected organization.
