Creating a standard quotation using an activity record

You must create an activity before you can create a quotation for the activity.

  1. Open an activity.
    You can only create a quotation for a specific type of activity. This is set in the M3 Mobility Core Toolbox. Contact your system administrator if you do not know the activity type where standard quotations are made.
  2. Select Quotation > Create Standard Quote.
  3. Specify this information. These fields have default values that are based on the configuration in the M3 Mobility Core Toolbox.
    Sales Order Type
    Select from the list of sales order types.
    Facility
    Select from the list of facilities.
    Valid From
    Select the date when the quotation is created.
    Valid Until
    Select the date when the validity of the quote expires.
    Reason
    Select from the list of reasons for creating this quote.
    First Follow Up Activity

    Select from the list of the type of follow-up activity for this quote.

    Date
    Select the date that the first follow-up activity is made.
    Second Follow Up Activity

    Select from the list of the kind of follow-up activity for this quote.

    Date

    Select the date that the second follow-up activity is made.

    In user defined fields 1-4, values configured in M3 Mobility Core Toolbox are displayed. In user defined fields 5-6, the user must set the values.

  4. Click Create.
  5. After M3 generates the Quote number, the system displays a toast message containing the Quote number. You can click the hyperlink to open the corresponding Quote number in M3. The system opens the related bookmark in a new tab within M3 CLM.
  6. Complete the transaction in this page. Optionally, M3 BE can populate the Project Number and Project Element and displays the values in M3 CLM. Contact your system administrator. Follow-up activities are created.

    The opportunity record is displayed with these details:
    • Standard Quotation details is displayed on the Standard quotes tab of the opportunity record.

    • Quotation Total is displayed in the Opportunity Total field depending on the quotation status configured by the system administrator.

    • If configured, the Order total is displayed in the specified field when the quotation record is changed to an order.
