Using M3 Customer Defined Fields (CUGEX1)

Additional customer defined fields are configured in Customer-Defined Fields. Open (CMS080) program in M3. In this program, the customer chooses an M3 table to extend and compose fields that they will add into the existing tables. See the M3 Business Engine User Documentation Library (Cloud) and select M3 Application Foundation > Customer Defined Fields > M3 Customer-Defined Fields (CDF).

This is the recommended way to add customer-unique information as it is already existing in M3. This information is then stored in the CUGEX1 table. In M3 Analytics, CUGEX1 extension scripts are created which are designed to fill the custom field values into the hierarchies.

These restrictions are applicable:
  • Attributes are added only to existing table in M3.
  • The CUGEX1 extension functionality cannot be used to insert new dimension records.
  • There is a defined set of custom attributes that you can add. Refer to the table in the Implementation section for details.
