Rental Metrics by Units dashboard

The Rental Metrics by Units dashboard provides the metrics to measure the business' performance using the standards from the American Rental Association Rental Market Metrics. These standards serve as a common benchmark within similar rental businesses to compare a company's performance over time.

The data displayed in the Rental Metrics by Units dashboard is aggregated by equipment based on the equipment's Lot Number attribute. Categorization of the Base Fleet Indicator is by Equipment level. An equipment is considered part of a base fleet if it is rented from both the current and previous periods being analyzed.

This dashboard provides these key value indicators:
  • Time utilization to measure fleet efficiency based on the time that the equipment is on-rent and weighted original equipment value (OEC)
  • Financial utilization to measure the fleet's realized revenue based on the time that the equipment is on-rent and weighted OEC
  • Fleet age to measure the fleet's average age in months since the fleet was put into service
The dashboard also provides these additional information in the analysis of rental rates, utilization, and yield:
  • Rental rate percentage to measure the period over period percentage change in contract rental rates
  • Revenue change percentage to measure the period over period percentage change of realized revenue
  • Yield percentage to measure the part of the revenue change that is associated with change in rates
  • Utilization percentage to measure the part of the revenue change that is associated with the change of utilization based on on-rent days
  • Fleet change percentage to measure the part of the revenue change that is associated with fleet changes

The report titles for Metrics Data by Months - Period 1 and Metrics Data by Months - Period 2 are disabled in the dashboard.

  • Utilization Pct
  • Fleet Change Pct

Period information is also displayed in the banner. The value displayed depends on the value you select in the Last N Periods filter.
