Security

Birst users are automatically created when a user is added to the appropriate Security role. The Birst users are mapped with the users' corresponding email address in Security.

The naming pattern of a Birst user is Tenant-ID_IFS-GUID, for example:

MyCompany_DEV_30002b46-ded7-49c0-8bd8-a919f01101e9

Application roles and Business roles are the types of user roles that are based on Birst security groups. The Application role provides access to both the applications in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le and the spaces within Birst. The Business roles are synchronized between Security and Birst.

Application roles:

  • M3A prefix-User, for example, M3ADISBIRST-User
  • M3A prefix-Consumer-Administrator, for example, M3ADISBIRST-Consumer-Administrator
  • M3A prefix-Model-Administrator, for example, M3ADISBIRST-Model-Administrator

The User role gives general access to the consumer space and creates a Birst user that corresponds to the Cloud Suite user. The administrator roles grant administrator access in the model, consumer, and extension spaces.

Business roles:

  • M3A Administrators
  • M3A Default Subject Area
  • M3A Sales
  • M3A Finance
  • M3A Procurement
  • M3A Rental
  • M3A Equipment
  • M3A Production
  • M3A Warehouse
  • M3A Opportunity Management

These business roles represent the Birst Groups within the Birst consumer space. Users added to the M3AEQPBIRST-User role must belong to at least one of the business roles to access the content.

Birst Application comes with two Security roles: Birst Systemadministrator and Birst User. Birst User creates a user in Birst and grants access to the Birst application. Birst Systemadministrator provides the user with account administration privileges within Birst.

Note: Do not use Birst to add users. Always use Security.
