Rental Metrics

The Rental Metrics model contains summarized data of the total equipment time and financial utilization metrics based on the Rental Utilization data model.

The Rental Metrics model is aggregated into two classifications: by Units and by Equipment Class. These classifications support the comparison of the standard metrics between the configured periods per category. By default there are four categories that are configured to compare 1, 3, 6, and 12 periods.

Period selection depends on the values defined in the variable. You can use the current period or current period minus 1, by default the variable is relative to the current period. For example, if the variables are set to default and the processing did run in November, then period 1 compares November against October and period 3 compares September to November against June to August. See the information about variables in Infor M3 Analytics for M3 CloudSuites Administration Guide.

The measures available in this model are used to compute these KPIs and metrics:
  • Time Utilization (Time Util) which is the percentage of time an equipment unit is on-rent during a given period. This calculation is weighted by the original equipment value (OEC).
  • Financial Utilization (Financial Util) which is the rental revenue of an equipment during a given period. This is weighted by the fraction of the fleet OEC value.
  • Rental Rate Pct which is the percentage change in rental rates from one period to the next.
  • Change in Revenue Pct which is the percentage change in rental revenue from one period to the next.
  • Yield Pct which is a part of the Change of Revenue Pct that is caused by the change in rates.
  • Utilization Pct which is a part of the Change of Revenue Pct that is caused by the change in utilization.
  • Fleet Change Pct which is a part of the Change of Revenue Pct that is caused by the change of fleet size and fleet composition.

Load Date is used to analyze the measures in this model.
