Equipment Profitability
Equipment Profitability enables the analysis of equipment over its full lifetime. Revenue and costs are analyzed to calculate the contribution margin made over the life of the equipment. This model enables the analysis of equipment accounting towards your customers, equipment, and payers. It is based on analytical accounting balances.

The data needed to analyze equipment profitability is captured mainly from Analytical Accounting Aggregated Balance file, CAAAGG. To enable analysis from different perspectives, the Analytical Accounting Balance Key table (CAAKEY) is used. Each balance key provides a specific perspective of the data.
- Accounting Model Lines centric analysis
Balance Key 1 is essential and provides profitability analysis per Accounting Model Lines. The Period dimension is also available.
- Equipment centric analysis
Balance Key 2 is essential and provides profitability analysis per Item, Product Group and Accounting Model Lines. This key can be used together with the Equipment dimension and its attributes. The Period dimension is also available.
- Customer centric analysis
Balance Key 3 is essential and provides profitability analysis per Customer Group, Customer, Country and Accounting Model Lines. This key can be used together with the Customer dimension and its attributes. The Period dimension is also available.
- Maintenance Agreement centric analysis
Balance Key 4 is essential and provides profitability analysis per Maintenance Agreement and Accounting Model Lines. This key can be used together with the Maintenance Agreement dimension and its attributes. The Period dimension is also available.
- Origin ID, Item, and Serial number centric analysis
Balance Key 5 is essential and provides profitability analysis per Origin ID, Item, Serial number and Accounting Model Lines. This key can be used together with Equipment dimension and its attributes. The Period dimension is also available.
