Defining parameters for external applicants

To enable Applicant Self-Service, you must define the parameters in Applicant Setup (HS00.1).

Before you define parameters for external applicants, you must select Yes in the Auto Applicant field in the Personnel page in Company (HR00.1).

Complete these steps to define parameters for external applicants.

  1. Access Applicant Setup (HS00.1).
  2. Specify this information:
    Applicant Status

Select a status that you will apply in Applicant (PA31.1) and in PA43.1 (Requisition Applicants) if the applicant applies for an opening. You can select from the statuses that you defined in Applicant Status (PA30.1).

    Requisition Status

Select the status that Requisition (PA42.1) contains that is displayed to the applicants on the web as an open job requisition.

    Census Data
If you select Y (Yes), then the applicant is prompted to fill in these fields:
    • Gender
    • EEO class
    • Veteran status
    • Disability status
    • Whether you are older than 18
If you select N (No), then the fields are not displayed to the applicant.
    Job Requisitions
You must select Y (Yes) for:
    • Job Requisitions
    • Positions or Jobs, or
    • both
If you select Y (Yes), then the applicant can apply up to three current openings that you defined in Requisitions (PA42.1).

To make an opening available for external applicants, you must specify a date in the External Start Date field in Requisition (PA42.1), Posting page. The date must be earlier than or equal to the current system date. As a rule, you can use the date in the Requested or Opened field on the Status page. You can specify a date in the External End Date field or leave it blank.

    Positions
You must select Y (Yes) for
    • Job Requisitions
    • Positions or Jobs, or
    • both
If you select Y (Yes), then the applicant can apply for up to three position codes that you defined in Position (PA02.1).
    Jobs
You must select Y (Yes) for
    • Job Requisitions
    • Positions or Jobs, or
    • both
If you select Y (Yes), then the applicant can apply up to three job codes that you defined in Job Code (HR06.1).
Note: Select Jobs or Positions. Because both terms are similar, selecting both might cause confusion for applicants.
