Using GLNs in EDI transactions

Before you can begin using GLNs in Lawson, you must first enumerate and register your locations with GS1 and share that information with your trading partners. More information about enumerating your locations can be found on the GS1 website.

To use GLNs directly in ASC X12 Transactions with Lawson EDI for Supply Chain Management customers must be on Lawson Applications 9.0.1.4 (or 9.0.1.3 + CTPs) and Lawson EDI 9.0.0..4 or 9.0.1.1. GLNs are available for use in the Lawson interface files for Lawson applications 9.0.1.4 and higher.

For customers on earlier releases of Lawson Applications, Lawson EDI for Supply Chain Management provides a method for using GLNs in ASC X12 transactions through Data Substitution records setup in ED40.
