US Tax Authority (PR06.1)

Use US Tax Authority (PR06.1) to define a tax authority that provides a link between the Payroll system and the Business Software, Inc. tax tables.

You can define tax authorities for a company. A tax authority can also be defined to establish garnishment rules only.

Note: For proper calculation, you must tie tax deductions to the appropriate BSI tax codes. Reports are available in the BSI system to provide listings of tax codes.

More Information

Access the Additional EIN (Employer Identification Number) subform to define additional EINs for a company.

Access the Minimum Wage subform to define a minimum wage and its effective date for the tax authority.

For states that require additional information for state reporting, the Payroll system provides a subform where you can define that information. You can access the State Reporting Information subform through the State Rpt button, or by selecting form action X (State Rpt). The subform is accessible only if the tax authority type is state, and the State field value is a state that requires additional information. If the State field value is a state that does not require additional information, you cannot access the subform.
