Position Update (PA102)

Run Position Update (PA102) to

  • Update employees, requisitions, and action associated positions changed on Positions (PA02.1) when you have selected the update later option.
  • Update positions changed in PA02.1 if you elect to update employee immediately on PA02.1 and the message "Change Incomplete" displays.
  • Find employees or requisitions or both that are assigned to a position with an end date.

Process at a Glance

Updating position information can require four steps:

  1. Change the information in PA02.1.

  2. Run PA102 (Position Update).

  3. Run PA100 (Action Update).

  4. Use PA03.1 (Position Change).

    Whether you need to follow all four steps depends on the requisitions, new employees, current employees, and pending actions that need to be resolved. To resolve those situations correctly, be sure to follow the four steps in the order presented. If the message "Update Incomplete" displays after any of the steps, go to the next step. If the message "Update Complete" displays after any of the steps, the update process is finished and you do not need to go to the next step.

    Note: If an employee is on the error listing, none of the fields are updated for that employee.

    After you run PA102 a few unresolved situations might remain. If unresolved situations remain, the message "Change Incomplete" displays.
