Sending work orders offsite

If a work order needs to be sent offsite for additional work, you must place it on hold until the work comes back. After the work comes back, you will remove the hold code which allows you to continue processing the work order and record the offsite costs as burdens.

See Offsite processing for more details.

Use this procedure to place work orders on hold and take them off hold.

Send work orders offsite

  1. Access Send Offsite (WO35.1).
  2. Select the Change form action, select the hold code and vendor, and type the date you sent the work order to the vendor. Specify this information:
    Company

Select a company number defined on Company (IC01.1).

    Location

Select a valid stock location as defined on Location (IC02.1). It is also the production facility where finished goods are produced for work orders.

    Work Order

Select a work order. This field identifies the work order and can be automatically assigned or manually assigned, depending on the option defined for each production (inventory) location.

    Work Order Suffix

This field will normally be zero for a work order. If you chose to split a work order so the completed part of the finished goods can be available for allocation, the work order created for the remaining quantity will have a non-zero value in this field.

    Hold Code

Select the offsite hold code which indicates if the work order is currently sent offsite during the production process to be performed by a vendor.

    Vendor

Select the vendor code that is currently doing some process related to the production of the finished good while the work order is on offsite hold.

    Date Sent

Type the date that the work order was sent offsite.

    Date Returned

Leave blank until the work order is returned from the vendor. When the work order is returned from the vendor, type the return date.

    Seq Code

Select the burden code that identifies a burden that has cost and rate information which is used to determine costs in addition to inventory item costs associated with a production process.

    Flat Amount

Type the actual amount for flat amount burdens.

    Per Unit

Type the actual amount per unit used in the calculation of per finished good burdens and per burden unit burdens.

    Per Burden Unit

Type the actual amount per burden unit.

    Percent

Type the actual percentage used along with inventory cost for the calculation of percentage of inventory cost burdens.

    Actual Unit of Measure

A unit of measure, other than stock, that is used to determine burden costs associated with producing a specific finished good. This unit of measure is an actual, recorded during production feedback.

    Actual Quantity

This is the actual quantity used along with actual amount per unit and actual multiplier for the calculation of per burden unit burdens.
