Defining user analyses and values
User analyses and user analysis values are analysis categories that store user-defined business information in Strategic Ledger transactions. This procedure describes how to define user analyses and user analysis values.
- Access User Analysis Values (SL00.1).

Select New Analysis to access Define User Analysis (SL00.2)
Note: Once you define values for a user analysis, you cannot change the data type or field size.

Define parameters for the user analysis. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
- Name

Specify the name of the user analysis field.
- Description

Specify a description of the user analysis to be used for OLAP analysis.
- Data Type

Select one of these options to determine what type of data can be entered for the user analysis:

Alpha
-
Numeric
-
Date

- Field Size

Specify the size of the data field. The total size of user analysis fields cannot exceed 103 characters. This includes automatic comma separators between each field.
- Add the new user analysis. The system will bring you to User Analysis Values (SL00.1).

(Optional) Define a table of valid values for the user analysis.
Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
- Value

Specify the values that you want to include in the user analysis. The values must meet the parameters you defined on Define User Analysis (SL00.2).
- Description

Specify a description of the value. If left blank, then the Value entry will default as the description.
- Class

(Optional) Select a class to assign to the value. See Class.
- Stat(us)

Select an Active or Inactive status for the user analysis value. Inactive values cannot be used in transactions.
- Att(ribute)

(Optional) Select Att to associate the user analysis value with an attribute. See Assigning attributes to user analysis values.
