Defining user analysis groups

A user analysis group is a group of user analyses. To use Strategic Ledger, you must define a user analysis group. This determines which user analyses are presented during transaction entry for all companies that are associated with that chart of accounts.

Note: You can add a user analysis even after you create transactions by appending the new user analysis value to the group. The new analysis applies only to new transactions. You cannot insert a user analysis into an existing user analysis group, change a user analysis, or delete a user analysis from a user analysis group.

Foolow these steps to define a user analysis group:

  1. Access User Analysis Group (SL01.1).
Note: The order in which you define user analysis fields in the user analysis group determines the order in which you enter user analysis values in transactions.
  2. Select New Group to open Define User Analysis Group (SL01.2).
  3. Specify the name and description of the user analysis group.
Note: The Available Size field shows the number of characters remaining for user analyses that you want to assign to the group.
  4. In the User Analysis field, select the user analyses that you want to include in the group.
Note: You can enter as many user analyses as you need, but the total data size for all user analyses in the group cannot exceed 103 characters, including the comma separators that are automatically placed between user analysis values.
