Blank user analysis values
A blank user analysis value is a user analysis value that contains no identifications. This serves as a placeholder for user analysis entry. When you define a user analysis, you can determine whether you can leave the user analysis field empty during data entry or transaction interface. You can define blank numeric or alphanumeric values. Blank values must have a description, active status, and optionally, a class.
The option of using blank user analysis values is available regardless of whether you build a table of valid values for the user analysis.
Business example
When you allow blanks for a user analysis, you must define a placeholder description for the blank value. Moose Wood Outfitters defined a user analysis to capture customer zip codes and wants to allow for the possibility that the customer zip code might not be available for a given transaction. They defined a blank user analysis value called Customer zip not available. The transaction is still captured, but a blank zip code is a valid user analysis value.
