Defining an allocation by copying

  1. Access Define Allocation (SL10.2). .
  2. Select Copy to open Allocation Copy (SL10.3).
  3. Copy an allocation. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    User Analysis Group

    This is the original allocation user analysis group.

    Allocation

    This is the original allocation name.

    Allocation Group

    This is the original allocation group.

    New Allocation

    Specify a name and description that identifies the new allocation that you are creating.

    Note: If you leave the description field blank, then the description from the Existing Allocation Description field is set as default.
    New Allocation Group

    You can specify or select an allocation group.

    Journal Entry

    This is the journal entry number assigned to the original allocation. The copied Journal requires a new journal entry number. This will become the journal number for the allocation journal. The Journal Entry number is unique to the allocation user analysis group, allocation name, year, and period.

    Source Code

    This is the original allocation source code that will be assigned to each allocation transaction. The default setting is SE.
