User analysis relation
A user analysis relation is an optional feature that allows you to define what classes of user analysis values can be combined and used in transactions for a specific detail or summary account. If you use a class that includes multiple user analysis values to define a user analysis relation, then all values included in that class are valid in the relation.
Business scenario information
For example, Moose Wood Outfitters sells goods through its stores and catalogs. It also has special contracts to supply goods to certain large-scale buyers. MWO can use the user analysis relation to limit the user analysis values on the Supply Contract detail account to camping and outdoor sporting equipment supplied through contracts.
A completed user analysis relation might look like this:
MWO_PRODUCT | MWO_DIST | MWO_MARKET | MWO_SALESCHANL |
---|---|---|---|
Class | Class | Class | Class |
CMP-A | NSTOR | ||
CMP-B | CMP-B | NSTOR | |
OSE-A | NSTOR | ||
OSE-B | OSE-B | NSTOR |
The first row of this user analysis relation requires that when a value in class CMP-A for MWO_PRODUCT is selected on a transaction, that value must be combined with values in class NSTOR for MWO_SALESCHANL.
If no class is selected, then you can select any value for the user analysis in a transaction. Using the preceding table, if you select a value in class CMP-A for MWO_PRODUCT, then that value must be combined with values in class NSTOR for MWO_SALESCHANL and can use any value in MWO_DIST and MWO_MARKET.
