Employee features

The employee features of the Career Management Center contains these tabs:

  • My Action Plan

  • My Job Profile

  • My Qualifications

  • Job Openings

  • Explore Careers

  • Training Options

My Action Plan

You can use My Action Plan to plan for and reach career goals. These are the specific uses of the My Action Plan tab:

  • Write, edit, and print your career goal action plan

  • View your next job review date

  • View a list of your expired or soon-to-be expired competencies or certifications

  • Receive notifications about the open jobs you have expressed interest in

  • Access internal and external links to job-related information

My Job Profile

You can use My Job Profile to access details about your current positions. The My Job Profile tab contains these information:

  • A graph comparing your current qualifications and required or expected job qualifications.

  • Training options you can take to achieve job qualifications or improve job proficiencies.

  • Your current job description.

  • Additional details about your current job such as:
    • Working conditions
    • Travel
    • Equipment operated
    • Supervision requirements
    • Mental requirements
    • Physical requirements

My Qualifications

You can use My Qualifications to access details about your competencies. These are the specific uses of the My Qualifications tab:

  • View your competency information, certifications, or education degrees

  • Add new qualifications or edit your existing information

Job Openings

You can use Job Openings to access job opening information and apply for open jobs. These are the specific uses of the Job Openings tab:

  • View all current job openings

  • View the details for any job opening

  • Apply for a job opening

  • View a list of the jobs you have applied for

  • Select jobs that interest you, and receive notifications when requisitions are created for those jobs

Explore Careers

You can use Explore Careers to determine which jobs you are qualified for. When you specify a potential job, the system compares your current qualifications to a potential job's requirements. This table shows the careers you can explore using these search criteria:
Search criteria Description
Job Title Select a job title and compare your current qualifications to the potential job's qualifications.
Job Category Select a job category and compare your current qualifications to the potential job's qualifications.
Qualification Criteria
You can also select up to six qualifications and a list of potential jobs is generated that require your current and selected qualifications.
Note: You can use this function to plan your training schedule.

Training Options

You can use Training Options to help you view information about training courses. You can also use Training Options to register for courses you want to take. This table shows the search methods that you can use to find information about the training courses:
Search method Description
Category You can select a training category to view a list of all courses related to that category.
Qualification Criteria You can select a competency, certification, or educational degree. A list of courses is generated that you must complete to achieve the qualification you specified.
For Job Gaps This function compares your current qualifications with your required job qualifications. A list of job gaps is created and identifies any training courses that you must complete to achieve your job's qualifications.
