Web server's document root directory
WEBDIR represents the web server's document root directory. WEBDIR has directories and
subdirectories that contain all of the task
- .htm files
- graphics
- documents
- other items used in the portal applications
WEBDIR is used in both UNIX and Windows 2000 environments. If you are using UNIX, then you must use WEBDIR. If you are using Windows 2000, then you must use %WEBDIR%.
It is important to know your WEBDIR path. Your administrator can provide the path.
Whenever you see instructions in a procedure in this chapter to copy a file to a folder in the WEBDIR directory, you must copy the file into the folder that represents your WEBDIR path. WEBDIR is simply a variable that represents the actual root document directory, which is unique and different for most clients.
