Bookmark assignment

When you install Employee and Manager Self-Service, the bookmarks listed in Available tasks are delivered. Typically, several of those bookmarks may not apply as delivered to some organizations for one of these reasons:

• Bookmark does not apply to organization's business needs

• You intend to implement the bookmark in the long term but not immediately

• Bookmark only applies to specific users and not all users

You can disable or assign delivered bookmarks globally for all users, only for specific web users, or only for specific web user groups.

For example, the Org Chart bookmark delivered by Lawson graphically shows your structure based on supervisory relationships. Your organization only prefers to view that information based on process level or department structure, so the Org Chart bookmark does not provide an accurate picture for your employees. You can disable the bookmark globally for all users so it does not show at all in any user's Employee Self-Service menu.

For example, while all web users should access Employee Self-Service to view and update their own information, only web users linked to employees who are supervisors should be able to access Manager Self-Service. You can define a web user group of all managers and then assign the Manager Self-Service bookmark only to that group.
